Transformation and extension of a single-family house, aiming to requalify the living spaces by enhancing natural light, spatial flow, and their relationship with the garden. The volume of the extension emerges from the desire to capture as much daylight as possible, giving rise to its distinctive funnel-shaped roof, while also preserving views from the upper floors. It is equally shaped by the need to respect the building envelope and the regulations imposed by the urban planning authorities.
This singular geometry is expressed through a roof whose structure has been carefully designed to emphasize this particular feature. The project also integrates principles of reversibility and circularity. The extension is built in brick to harmonize with the existing house, while showcasing the reuse of materials through its specific form and brickwork pattern. Its structure is a timber frame, and natural insulation materials, cork and wood fiber, are used throughout.
